Description

GENERAL

A cult building has been located behind the Archaeological Museum of Paros, at Paroikia, in the area of one of the the necropoleis of the city. Due to its relation with the burial ground the cult was supposed to have been addressed to a heroized deceased.


 

MONUMENTS

Non-identified.

A marble Gorgo, part of a corner acroterion of the hipped roof of a temple, dating to the third decade of the 6th c., as well as some marble roof tiles, that may belong to the same roof come from the area of the necropolis.


 

FINDS

Archaic marble kouroi. Marble Gorgo belonging to an acroterion.
