: Amorgos isl.
GENERAL
Minoa lies on the hill of Moundoulia, which overlooks the bay of modern Katapola, in the middle of the SW coast of the island. An enclosure was found at the Lower Town of Minoa, set against the interior face of the fortification wall, to the right of one of the main gates.
MONUMENTS
Peribolos and tombs. Three MG graves were excavated within the limits of the inhabited area in the Lower Town. These tombs (two adult cremations belonging to a warrior and a woman, and a child enchytrism) appear to have become the focus of a cult in the early Archaic period, at which period they were enclosed by an enclosure wall and were incorporated within the fortifications.
